MANCHESTER, New Hampshire. Police say they've recovered the $3,200 engagement ring, 52 year old Ronald Perley allegedly swallowed during an attempted jewelry store theft.
Police say X-rays showed the 14 karat white gold ring with princess cut diamonds inside the suspect Ronald Perley and have charged him with theft and falsifying physical evidence.
Perley allegedly went into the jewelry store on Thursday, asking if he can look at the engagement rings. Store workers said the suspect grabbed a ring and when he was confronted he then swallowed the engagement ring.
Police have the surveillance footage from jewelry store and clearly shows Perley taking the engagement ring and putting his hand toward his mouth.
WMUR-TV reports on Saturday that police in New Hampshire have the ring in their possession.
Perley is currently being held on $50,000 bail. It's not clear if the suspect has an attorney.

This is funny. Almost as funny as the guy who fell asleep on the bed in the house he was robbing. Too bad they don't have the camera footage of this guy popping the ring in his mouth. I wonder if he was going to propose to someone. I guess he won't be doing that.
