Three police officers were killed and three more injured in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sunday. The responding police officers came under fire after a 911 call reported someone with a gun.
Authorities have not released the names of officers who died, but are aged 45, 41 and 32. The three police officers were injured in the attack have also not been identified.
Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said the suspect was killed. The suspect, Gavin Eugene Long, was a former Marine from Kansas City.
"There simply is no place for more violence, it doesn't help anyone, it doesn't help any injustice perceived or real, it is just another injustice. We are not going to tolerate more hate and violence tearing apart the lives and families of people in Louisiana, " said Baton Rouge Police Cpl. L'Jean McKneely Jr.
