Texas police have arrested the woman in connection with the accident that critically injured a trooper around 2:30 a.m. Monday morning.
Tuwanna Moore, 31, slammed her vehicle into the back of Trooper Chad Blackburn cruiser. Blackburn was in his police car, which was parked in the right emergency lane on I-45.
Officer Blackburn was seriously injured in the crash, DPS Sgt. Richard Standifer said. "He did have to be cut out of the car."
Officer Blackburn is currently listed in serious condition after undergoing surgery Monday morning.
Tuwanna Moore was charged with intoxicated assault causing bodily injury to a peace officer. She had her first court appearance Monday night and posted the $100,000 bond.
