Thanks a lot for the warm welcome! I'm sure I'll feel at home here with the replies I've gotten so far. I will do my best to contribute to the community in any way I possibly can.

This is a clear case of police brutality, what kind of probable cause did they even have? I'm not sure how much is true of the story but if it is exactly as described in the article, the victim should be able to get quite some money out of this.

Even though these calls might seem funny, I don't think they are. Lives are put at risk simply because of their stupidity. Distracting law enforcement should be in no way acceptable.

It might be tricky. Do you have any past experience in any sort of public security or law enforcement jobs at all? If so that would definitely increase your chances. I heard it varies a lot by department as well.

That should surely help out, taking some vitamins with it might surely ease up the process however. There are no downsides to it apart from the cost, so if you can afford it I would strongly recommend it.

As said earlier, there are support groups for almost anything. I'm sure there are support groups dedicated to police officers. Obviously the things they encounter in their daily job could go way beyond what a regular citizen has to face each day.

I like the idea, however I doubt something like this would work out too well. Seeing sections on a per country basis could be a good improvement. However this forum is US based, and we should respect that.

I've taken vitamins every day for as long as I can remember now. I do believe it's helping to keep me healthy. I know plenty of people who don't but are still just as healthy as me, so I'm not sure.

Height shouldn't matter that much unless it's disproportional. However I do believe taller officers might get more respect when out on the street. This of-course varies by neighborhood.

Non-lethal weaponry should be used much more than it is now. I've heard some officers aren't even allowed to use non-lethal weaponry and are actually instructed to use their side-arm in situations where it would not be needed.

Why wouldn't this be allowed? I honestly think it should. However the law is the law and people will have to either adapt or do something about it. In my personal opinion something like this shouldn't have passed in the first place.

Indeed, it's all about having the time for it. If they have nothing to do at a certain point in time, why wouldn't they surf the web? However if they should be doing other stuff, that's a different matter entirely.

I doubt this is a good idea, the officer should be allowed to wear his uniform and side-arm. I really can't see the harm in it. I doubt most of these kids even know what a gun is for.
