    Military Background

I would agree with the others here in saying that it would improve chances in getting hired for law enforcement. An individual with military background has already dealt and passed physical tests. Moreover, he or she has been trained to handle stressful situations. I do not see why a military...

    Cops Speeding & Tailgating

Are there any cops on this forum who can answer the question? I am genuinely curious. I would also like to know whether they can get in trouble for this or would it be overlooked?

    Cops Speeding & Tailgating

Still, sometimes they seem to just abuse their power. Also, I cannot see why it is acceptable or appropriate to tailgate a citizen to that extent. If anything, doing so is hazardous.

Why do many police forces around the world not carry guns?

Do you have any sources to back this up? I am in agreement with you. I assumed it would decrease a lot of gun related violence. Police forces should be taught to adequately handle a situation without firearms anyways rather than rely on their gun. This often leads to rushing for their weapon...

    Cops Speeding & Tailgating

I have often witnessed a cop car speeding excessively without their lights or siren on. Are they allowed a privilege that permits them to not following regular traffic laws? I understand if there is an emergency, but it seems like they are speeding with no other reason than the common...

    Gangs and Their Colors

Yeah, it can be pretty bad. The owner of the bar is even scared of them. It's mostly why she allows them there and does not tell them to take off their colors.

What was the hardest part of Academy for you?

This is a good question that I am curious in having answered as well. I can see how the physical aspect would be extremely difficult, but what about being on scene and the emotional energy it requires? I would think some of the things cops have come across can wear a person out.

Police entering your home without permission

I thought a couple years ago this was an issue. They were considering on allowing cops to enter without a warrant. If I am not mistaken, this would be an infringement of the fourth amendment.

    Gangs and Their Colors

Sadly he works there; he cannot up and quit until he finds another job with good enough income. Luckily, he started working at a different bar that has a safer crowd. The training is not paid, though. Until they begin paying him he is stuck working at the current establishment.

    Gangs and Their Colors

Should biker gangs be allowed to wear their colors in public places such as bars? Because of what the colors represent, I would think this should be controlled. My boyfriend has been having issues with some at a bar. They have been trying to intimidate him by flashing their guns, etc. Plus...

Can Retired Officers Enforce The Law?

Citizen's arrest initially came to mind for me when reading this thread. Like anyone else, they would be able to exert the same authority a pedestrian has that comes across a crime. The difference is that the retired officer is more knowledgeable regarding the law and is more equipped in...

How Do They Get Rid Of Confiscated Marijuana?

That's interesting. What type of treatment renders it impotent to that degree?

    Issues between officers

I think this is the most logical and likely possibility in the given situation. Either transfer them or fire them because as I mentioned above, part of their job requires working together. If they cannot meet that qualification then they remain unqualified for the job. Also, I am sure it...

    Issues between officers

I agree that it should be handled by an immediate superior. If the problem does not get resolved then generally it is because both or one of the two won't come to some settlement or understanding. The individual who is uncooperative and instigating an issue should be reprimanded; they may even...

    Police-tracking app

I can see the concern the police force may have, but this sheriff uses a poor example. If someone is going to rob a bank then they are already planning on the cops to be in the area. Security is there, and once anything goes awry police are going to be called to the scene.

    Personal opinion on marijuana?

This is extremely interesting. Only because the law changes does not mean a chunk of society's views will. People still retain their judgments on the matter. To some extent I can see an employer denying someone a job depending on what it is. The mind needs to remain sharp for certain duties...
