    5 positive posts a day

This is an excellent idea! I am guessing this is partly an attempt to improve law enforcement's reputation in the media. As observed by missbishi, there is a lot of negative content. Still, the few positive stories out will receive greater attention, and then reach more people.

Regular drinking while on duty in Mexico

If this is actually happening I would think they are taking advantage of not being checked on. There is no way any police force allows that kind of behavior. In fact, virtually any type of occupation would forbid it. This is ridiculous.

    Passenger Arrest?

I don't think all cops are like that. It is just him in particular. The majority of the force in my area seem alright. I'm guessing this other one is not fired because he's been in duty for too long. He's one of the oldest there. Perhaps it is similar to when professors have '10 year.'

Throwing up in a police car

I would think they would have it professionally cleaned as well. I think the only way a cop would make the person arrested clean it up is if he was a bully. Sadly, that does exist. I posted my experience elsewhere here. I didn't puke nor was I arrested. I was just pulled over.

What is done with illegal drugs?

Honestly, I think some may even use it themselves. Like I previously posted, I had a friend whose father is a cop. He told me some of the confiscated items were up for grabs. Supposedly his father took some marijuana home for personal use. Granted, this is somewhat hearsay since the friend...

Naked violinist sues police over arrest in Portland last year

The nudity was what was classified as indecent. There are specific, designated places for nudists to go to. Although I do think any ill treatment towards the arrested man is not right, it was appropriate for him to be arrested. What was he expecting? He knew being nude in public was going to...

    Passenger Arrest?

The cop is extremely well known for bullying young people. He's never been fired, though. I know he's been on the force for a very long time. What disappointed me was that along with him there was about 3 or 4 other cops present. One of them worked at my high school. He was always friendly...

    Passenger Arrest?

I didn't do any of that to the driver. Also, that particular cop was not there to witness the reckless driving. He was called in by a cop in an undercover cop car that followed us. He showed up at the subdivision we were pulled over at. Only the one in the undercover car witnessed anything...

    Passenger Arrest?

A couple years ago I was getting a ride from my friend. He started driving like an idiot having taken a detour to a gravel parking lot. He was doing burnouts or doughnuts. I'm not entirely sure what they're called. Anyways, we had a few cops pull us over after we left and reached a...

What is done with illegal drugs?

I want to think they responsibly take care of it. I suppose some counties differ, though. Years ago I had a friend whose father was a cop. This friend told me how they leave many of the confiscated items on a table and that they are up for grabs. He partly told me this because his father so...

    Pulled Over

I agree with the majority here. A cop is likely to let another officer go. Aside from the 'brotherhood' factor, I would think giving another one a ticket would create some tension. They probably would want to avoid any conflict.

Dashcam video shows man's fatal encounter with Bridgeton police

This is very tragic, and I'm sorry to hear it happened in your town. Police brutality is an existent problem, as it always has been, but at least we can remind ourselves at the end of the day how many good acts policemen do that don't get media coverage. Often stories like this make me worry...

Is police brutality really getting worse ?

I don't believe it is getting worse. There has always been police brutality. If anything, I think it was more frequent years ago, but it just fell under the radar more. The media is more advanced now so stories can be shared and focused in on more than before. Also, the media tends to focus...

    Hey! :)

I'm new here and excited to be a part of this forum. I think this is a fantastic idea. I've joined because I want to gain insight on the law enforcement community. Nowadays, a negative stigma has been building about police. The news tends to focus on only police brutality, but good deeds are...
