A couple of days ago I was pulled over for having an expired registration on my vehicle. For some reason or another I totally forgot to renew it. I was polite and respectful toward the officer. The police officer issued me a warning and had my car impounded until my registration was renewed. I renewed within 15 minutes over the phone. So why, after receiving a warning can they still impound my car? Doesn't the warning give me time to renew the registration without my car getting impounded.
