The U.S. military attacked a Syria government airfield with 59 Tomahawk missiles Thursday night.
"I think what happened in Syria is one of the truly egregious crimes and shouldn’t have happened and it shouldn’t be allowed to happen," stated President Trump.
They fired the missiles from warships located in the Mediterranean Sea. The launch was in response to Bashar al-Assad regime’s use of chemical weapons against civilians earlier in the week.
"Assad choked out the lives of innocent men, women and children," stated Trump.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said the missile attack 'reckless' and 'irresponsible', adding the U.S. was "naively pulled behind a false propaganda campaign."
