Do police officers get suspended for being overweight?

I don't think they should be suspended if they're overweight. So far they can carry on their duties and do it with precision. If they're lacking, and it has a connection to their physical state then yes, they should be.

The police would look embarrassing reading your rights if they are overweight. So I am glad for the fitness standards they have to follow everyday.

That's the issue, not only the practical side of the question, in case of a chase of a physical confrontation they need to be fit, but also what sort of an example a obese police officer gives?
Why? they have tazers, pepper sprays and most importantly GUNS, they don't need to be fit at all and most aren't ;d
